While Michigan Chronicle will publish my election coverage, I'll use Detroit one million to dive into the people, places and groups shaping the city's future.
Kudos to the Chronicle for picking up your content!
I'm hoping that with a million people, that an overwhelming majority of them have a substantive income based on their job or small business that they run. A "Detroit 1 million" city needs to have robust city services across all its departments. Its civic leaders need to be unabashed Detroit boosters while not "boosting" from city coffers in the interest of self-aggrandizement or graft on behalf of their personal friends or donors. Detroit one million should have thriving urban youth programs for baseball, hockey, lacrosse, and soccer (alongside the "old standbys" of basketball and football).
Love this! Congrats!
You and the readers you inspire drive essential conversation in the City of Detroit. I appreciate all you do, Sam, and I’m not alone.
