The rest of the country met Detroit pastor Lorenzo Sewell during an animated invocation at Monday’s presidential inauguration.
The pastor at Northwest Detroit’s 180 Church invoked Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream” speech during his invocation to close President Donald Trump's inauguration.
Sewell prayed that we “can live in a nation where we will not be judged by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character."
Clips of the speech have been viewed 10 million times on social media. Many found humor in Trump’s facial expressions as Sewell’s voice cracked and his arms waved.
