Sheffield makes mayoral pitch at young adult roundtable
Mayoral candidate and Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield said she would keep listening to the needs of the city's youth if elected mayor.
City council president and Detroit mayoral candidate Mary Sheffield during a roundtable discussion over the weekend said she would prioritize young adults in her administration if elected mayor.
“I think you got to have a place of opportunity: good paying jobs, a place where people can raise their families, good school system, good transit. All of these things, I think, retain and attract young people here,” Sheffield, 37, said Saturday at a campaign event in Midtown.
