Detroit's Garlin Gilchrist II to announce bid for Michigan governor
A gubernatorial bid from Michigan's lieutenant governor would add another Democrat to the field of candidates, including Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson.
Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II is expected to launch his campaign for Michigan governor Tuesday, March 11.
I obtained a link to his special announcement Wednesday evening. The event is scheduled for 5pm Tuesday in Detroit. The event is taking place at the Jam Handy in New Center.
“Serving the state of Michigan has been a really phenomenal experience,” Gilchrist told me last week in Lansing. “I build relationships all over the state, so, I’ll make some news about what the future looks like very soon.”
